Dodging Incoming Rounds

This chart will help inform you when you need to start dodging and by how much when you are taking incoming cannon fire. Input your ship stats and select ammunition you want to compare against. You can also view the chart if you are flanking. The chart will show you the time you have to initiate a dodge along the shortest axis of the hull on the Y-axis, compared against the range at which the round is fired at. The dodge should be directly perpendicular to the shot direction. Where the line crosses the X-axis is the point at which you will be hit, so try to stay outside of that range.

This chart assumes the gunnery is aiming perfectly at your center of mass. It displays three lines. One with a 0% distance margin, one with a 25% distance margin, and one with a 50% distance margin.

There are three charts. The first shows the maneuvering characteristics for your main engine. The second shows the maneuvering characteristics for your lateral thrusters. These are the thrusters that strafe the ship side to side. The third shows the maneuvering characteristics for your braking thrusters. These are the larger thrusters at the front of the ship.
